About IN-BIC
The goal of IN-BIC is to establish links between major US and international research centers at the interface of neuroscience and AI. We aim to identify and implement novel approaches to understanding cognitive function as well as new biologically inspired methods for artificial neural networks. Initial research collaborations carried out through the exchanges of postdoctoral fellows and faculty members and annual meetings will serve as groundwork for an international network of research collaborations among complementary Centers framed around the mathematics of data science and the translation of ideas from neuroscience to artificial intelligence and vice versa. Our network builds on expertise in:
Theoretical and experimental neuroscience
Machine learning and AI
Data science and applied mathematics
AI ethics and neuroethics
IN-BIC is funded through the NSF AccelNet program (2019976).
